Zhangjiajie National Forest Park has the total area of up to 4,180 hectares, and it takes a lot of time for tourists to get around the park just on foot. In order to improve travel experience, free environmental shuttle buses are provided inside the park. It is said that there are now more than 330 buses which are managed and operated by Zhangjiajie Environmental Protection Passenger Transport Company in service. Since these sightseeing shuttle buses were put into operation in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in 2003, they have safely run 120 million kilometers and served more than 300 million tourists so far.

It is fortunate that the four scenic areas including Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve, Yangjiajie Scenic Area, Yuanjiajie Scenic Area and Suoxi Valley Nature Reserve inside the Park all have internal bus services even though they seldom connected. These bus routes can be summarize as followings: ...🚃 The line running between the east entrance and the southeast entrance has riding distance of 19.6 km. Bus stops along the way are Caijiayu Bridge, Ten Mile Gallery, Shuiraosimen or Water Winding Four Gates. 🔊 Note please: Buses on this route run at the mountains' foot and it's also known as Off-Mountain Line. It has a branch line at Shuiraosimen or Water Winding Four Gates connecting directly to the Lower Station of Bailong Sky Elevator.

This line has the riding distance of 17.5 kilometer with stops of Shentang Bay, Dianjiang Terrace, Viewing Terrace, Three-way Intersection and Wulong Village or Oolong Village. 🔊 Note please: Buses on this route run on the mountain and it's also known as the On-Mountain Line. Service time for the buses inside Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. During busy holiday season, service hour may be extended to meet the increasing demand of transportation by tourists.

Entry fee for Zhangjiajie National Forest Park already covers the internal bus services, so tourists do not need to pay extra to use them. Moreover, there is no limit to your bus travel times. As long as you need it, you can feel free to get on one of the buses to travel inside the park. It's just that during the peak season, there are more people and buses may turn overcrowded. For this reason, sometimes, you will even have to wait until the next one. You can't stop the shuttle bus just by waving the hand. Please go to the parking lot or the roadside stops with waiting signs to board the bus.
